Hi, I'm Joellyn!

Thank You

for taking the time to look around my website.

I hope you can find some helpful information here.

So, who am I?

I am a mom first and foremost. I have only 1 child, a son, who is the absolute light of my life. Every decision I make is based around his well-being and how it will affect him.

Second, I am a daughter. I am an only child myself and am very close to my two amazing parents.

I am a Christian. I don’t consider myself a “religious” person and please don’t ask me to quote the bible because I can’t, but I do have faith in God and Jesus Christ. This choice to believe brings me peace and gives me hope. And I am a FIRM believer that once you seek out your purpose in life, God will open amazing doors for you.

I am a positive person. I genuinely believe that life is about choices. Everyone has had negative circumstances in their
lives, some more than others. People can choose to dwell on the negative aspects of these circumstances or they can choose to focus on the positives of them, no matter how minimal the positive is. I choose to focus on the positive.

I am a Dyslexia Specialist. Check out my video on my dyslexia website page to find out why I chose this field.

I am a friend. I have been blessed with many amazing friends throughout my life and some have been with me since grade school. There is something special about having friends who have been with you through all the walks of your life and are still by your side.

I am a single mom. I know first- hand all the blessings and burdens that go along with being a single mom. I choose to focus on the blessings! I also lead a group of amazing women that are currently single mothers or have been in the past.

I am a dog lover and a Virginia native. I grew up primarily in Indiana, so I feel like I’m a true Hoosier. I currently live near Batesville, Indiana. Unlike John Mellencamp, I was not born in a small town, but I absolutely love this small town… and my dog, Sailor!

I am an adventurer. I love trying new things, exploring new places, meeting new people, and taking the road less travelled.

I am a survivor. I have survived both divorce and childhood domestic violence. These circumstances were painful, but I have chosen to not allow them to define me.

I am a grateful person. I truly appreciate the little things in life and realize that each day is a gift. I also realize that life is full of choices and how we CHOOSE will decide our peace and happiness. We cannot control the situations that are thrown our way, but we can CHOOSE how we react to them.

And last, but definitely not least, I am a professional speaker. I cover topics relating to anything mentioned above. All of my talks incorporate how choices play a part in whatever topic I am speaking about.

And I choose to add a little humor to every talk I give, even the more serious subjects:)
