My Investment In Your Child Includes:

  • 1 hour pre-testing assessment to ensure that your child fits the dyslexia profile.
    • I will not test a child unless I suspect dyslexia may be the cause of their struggle.
  • 2-3 hours of testing
    • Utilizing at least 9 different assessments
      • Some of which are standardized
  • Professional analysis of:
    • All testing I perform
    • All school records
    • All prior testing
    • At least two school work samples
  • An extremely detailed written report that includes:
    • Whether your child has dyslexia or not
      • And if so, the level of severity (since it is on a spectrum)
    • A parent’s action plan
      • Which is a step by step guide I will write based on your child’s personal needs
      • This will assist you in helping your child in the most effective way
    • Recommendations for your child at school & at home so they can succeed
    • Information about how to best help your child to learn to read and spell proficiently
    • Informational guides that will assist you in how to explain dyslexia to your child, if needed
  • A 1 hour in person meeting where I will go over the results of all the testing & analysis
  • A follow-up email or phone call 1 month afterwards, so you may ask any questions you have at that time
  • Periodic follow-ups during the duration of your child’s academic career.
  • My rates are extremely cost effective, especially when compared to standard norms, and I do offer flexible payment plans if needed.

Please Note:

An individual must be at least mid-way through kindergarten and has passed a hearing and vision test before they can be considered for dyslexia testing.

And Please Note: Any dyslexia specialist, myself included, cannot assess for anything other than dyslexia and cannot test for dyslexia if an individual falls under any of these categories:

Pregnancy/ Birth Issues:

  • Individual’s mother consumed alcohol and/or illegal drugs during pregnancy
  • Individual was born more than 4 weeks premature
  • Birth weight of individual was 5 pounds or less
  • Oxygen was given to individual after birth
  • Individual resided in NICU for anything other than observation or jaundice
  • Individual did not leave the hospital on time with mother after birth

Individual has been diagnosed with:

  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Epilepsy (unless it was less than 2 febrile seizures)
  • Autism
  • Receptive Language Disorder &/or Expressive Language Disorder
  • Developmental Delay or has known cognitive issues
  • SED (Severely Emotionally Disturbed)
  • Communication Disorder or Language Disorder (or has an IEP for either)
  • Major Mental Illness (such as Bipolar, Schizophrenia, etc.)

Individual has experienced any:

  • Physical child abuse
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Near drowning accident where resuscitation was needed
  • Kind of developmental delay

Individual has qualified for or received:

  • Special education services before age 5
  • An IEP at school for behavioral issues
  • ESL classes (English as a Second Language)
  • A fair amount of Orton-Gillingham based tutoring already

Speech issues:

  • Unintelligible speech or made-up language
  • Pragmatic speech (inability to use language within social context)
  • Grammar and syntax (lack of pronouns, verb tenses, etc.)
  • Dyspraxia (a form of Developmental Coordination Disorder)
  • Speaks in monotone

• Individual has a suspected low IQ

• Individual was Adopted and there is no information about parents prenatal or birthing history

• Individual has already received a fair amount of Orton-Gillingham based tutoring
